With growing awareness of healthy eating and the need for transparency in food labeling, there is now a greater need for an acceptable system that would be able to assess and evaluate food and beverage products. NutriGrade client gave us the brief to undertake the construction of a digital platform capable of calculating food grades based on ingredient data and generating reports of nutritional analysis.
NutriGrade became a complete Food & Beverage Formulation and Nutrition Grading System. The entire application, from raw material management to recipe formulation and report generation, was built from the ground up with a focus on scalability and accuracy.

The Challenge
One of the main advantages given to NutriGrade was the clarity of requirements. The client provided formulas, grading ideas, and business rules, keeping in mind the regulatory standards. Technical and functional challenges were not significant during the entire course of the development. Nevertheless, the high level of precision required for this project presented a challenge.
Nutritional calculations for calories, protein, fats, carbohydrates, and other nutrients had to be done with accuracy at all three levels: raw materials, mixtures, and final recipes. Because a food grading would ultimately affect decisions on the product, data accuracy and coherence were essential throughout the system.

- Enabled the creation of pre-made mixtures using multiple raw materials.

Nutrition Calculator & Recipe Formulation
- Nutrition calculator developed for the automatic calculations of:
- Calories, Protein, Fat, Carbohydrates, Other essential nutrients
- Users can create, edit, and manage recipes for Food, Beverages, and Toppings.
- Nutritional values update instantly when ingredients are changed.
Reports & Insights
- Reporting on detailed nutritional analysis was built in PDF and Excel formats.
- Summary reports provided clear and easily understandable insights.
- Visual breakdowns were added for improved decision-making.
Ingredient Database & File Storage
- Created a central ingredient database with brand categorization.
- AWS S3 was integrated for secure storage of documents & reports.
